First Pony Ride

This weekend we went to the Wild West Fest at Historic Leo Carrillo Ranch in Carlsbad. We came at the very end of it due to Avery's long morning nap, and we weren't sure it would even be worth it. Well, I think we will only come to the end of any festival we ever go to, it was awesome! Everything was closing up and people were leaving so a family gave us 6 tickets on their way out so we were able to go into the salsa tasting, get a free bowl of chili, make a necklace for Avery and hang out on the grass and watch the peacocks walk around the grounds. They also had pony rides and we thought Avery was too little to go on them, but before they cleaned up the nice pony handler said, "You want to put her on?" I was like, "YES!!" Alex was worried she would fall off or be scared but she was a champ! She waved at everyone as she went around the circle and bounced up and down in her saddle and had a ball. We didn't bring the nice camera but snapped some pics on my cell phone.

10 Months!

On May 2, our little monkey was officially 10 months old! Here is what she has been up to:

• She is a solid 22 pounds and is 28 inches long. She is wearing 12 month clothes and momma loves to buy her new ones at a break-neck pace!
• She is crawling all sorts of ways and very quickly, is still cruising and pulling up on EVERYTHING! She loves to walk with her walker and can walk while only holding on to one hand. We practice walking every day and we think she'll stand one her own by her first birthday if not taking her first steps!
• She is constantly trying new foods, but her favorites so far are chunked up cheese sticks and fresh mango. Yum!
• Avery was recently a sweet little flower girl in my brother's wedding, we had such a good time!
• First birthday party planning is well underway! Invitations have been chosen, created and are in envelopes to be sent out next week. The park has been reserved and decor is being amassed and made! All that is left to do is make a few more things and find the perfect birthday outfit!

Beach Day!

I love that Alex doesn't work Fridays! Especially when the weather is perfect like it was today.
So, we live less than a mile from Ponto beach in Carlsbad+Alex surfs whenever he can+I love being outside and dressing Avery in cute summery clothes=BEACH DAY!
We went down to Ponto and of course, I snapped a few pics of our little beach bum.
